Learning Robotics Has Never Been Easier
There is a fast moving trend to get robots in schools (there are around 10,000 robotics teams in schools around the USA), and you may have felt teaching robotics at home was too difficult and too expensive. But with the advent of the OLLO Explorer curriculum, learning robotics has never been easier, more affordable or more fun! Still not convinced? Find out more about the OLLO Explorer kit on our website or take a look at just the robots covered in this course:
A glance at these colorful turtles may not immediately bring geometry to mind, but it would be difficult to find a manipulative better suited to illustrating complex geometric concepts than Reptangles. If rotational symmetries, truncated octahedrons, and lesser rhombicuboctahedrons sound like a foreign language to you, let alone your student, consider adding a set of Reptangles to your math manipulatives. With 80 puzzles included, your child will gain hands-on experience with all of these concepts and more. Even a child you wouldn’t ordinarily consider ready for geometry will spend hours with Reptangles reconstructing the various models and reconfiguring the turtles with all the benefits of a jigsaw puzzle and the fun of building a 3D model.
“Colorful Reptangles by Fat Brain Toys are ingeniously shaped turtles that snap and slide together in over 100 geometric ways! If you want your child’s curriculum to be mathematically rich, with unique opportunities to learn important math concepts while broadening and deepening their spatial thinking skills, Reptangles can be a key addition to your resources…” Buy Your Reptangles Now!
Are you looking for something that will enhance all four of your child’s fine-motor skills – grasping, reaching, releasing an object, and turning the wrist? Pop-arty Beads can do all of that and more…
It is exciting to get this episode out, it has been in the cue for way too long!
These girls spent a lot of time playing with the beads, and I think they would have been happy to do it all over again.
The girls were taped during a family reunion. The beads were one of the best activities for allowing the adults to visit while the kids played quietly.
“Each Pop-arty Beads collection comes with over 475 of the most eye-catching beads in a wild assortment of shapes, textures, and forms. Luscious solid colors like purple, lime green, pink, blue, orange, and salmon red or marble-like swirls of color give a sophisticated elegance to Battat’s B. Newly added to Timberdoodle’s Core Curriculum, CitiBlocs are brilliant in their simplicity. Precision cut from renewable New Zealand Pine, any child who can stack blocks is ready to enjoy these. At the same time, we’ve yet to find an adult who won’t feel challenged by some of the intricate pattern ideas. Most spend hours creating, assembling, knocking over, and trying again.
Citiblocks have already won twelve prestigious industry awards for their innovative design and sturdy construction. Among them are Creative Child’s 2009 Preferred Choice Award, Dr. Toy Best Vacation Children’s Products Award, iParenting Outstanding Products Award, Mr. Dad Seal of Approval, an Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Seal Award, Toy of the Year 2009 by Parenting Magazine, and 2009 Good Housekeeping “Best in top 7 picks”.

The kid footage was actually taped at a family reunion – these are our cousins’ daughters.
The new catalog mails tomorrow. We’re excited!
Looking for another idea for CitiBlocs? We took them to a Christmas party where the young (and young at heart) built towers as high as possible, then shot them down with Hot Rocketz. Lots of fun!
“If you agree with the sentiments of Albert Einstein, that “Everything should be made as simple as possible,” and you long to fill your home with uncomplicated toys that require no batteries and make no noise, other than the ear pleasing clatter of wood against wood, then you’re in for a treat…” Buy CitiBlocs Now Here!
Why is it so difficult to describe Wedgits? I guess it is because they are so unique. They are simultaneously square and wedge-shaped. They stack simply as orderly pyramids or can be wedged into elaborate creations. So easy a baby can successfully stack them in minutes, yet so complex that adults are still playing with them days later.
Behind The Scenes
Devyn’s baby sister Hayden stole the show this week with her huge grin!
Grandpa also makes a cameo appearance. He used Wedgits during therapy time after his stroke, and as you can see, was pretty tickled with his accomplishments.
Hayden loves seeing babies, and in the closing clip her excitement is because she caught a glimpse of herself in the video camera, and was delighted!
“Wedgits have long been a hit in the homeschool arena, to say nothing of their use in schools, hospitals, and occupational therapy centers across five continents. As an open-ended manipulative, Wedgits have always had kid-appeal because the rainbow-colored blocks seem to spontaneously align themselves in a myriad of forms…” Buy Wedgits Now Here!
